Carlos Villar

Red Rain from Pixel in Fact on Vimeo.

I choose to search the web for a random artist who i have never heard of and i happened upon a short film called "Red Rain" by Carlos Villar. Villar experiments with color, texture and form. In this film there is a stark and obvious contrast of color, his use of a candy heart being crushed is very symbolic and intriguing against the white. In this film he exposes contemporary conflicts and keeps clear feedback intention between viewer and film. the use of sound and color in this film were well synced. and his overall aesthetic is carefully and professionally planned. much consideration goes into every aspect of this film.
As for a biography i could not find much aside from a lengthy list of festivals and competitions he has been in. Other works by him were hard to come by, but this film is a testament to his talent for video art.

  1. That is pretty freakin sweet. i don't think he needed that sound affect when the wrapper his the ground. he could have just left it as is. The color and the contrast are really good.
