The group that I find interesting is by adbuster. They do videos that transform the way the people look at advertisements. So they basically take the whole commercial and flip around to change the meaning of it. I have always found the media interesting and how they portray different products televisions and they do not care about how we feel about the product as long as we buy it. In their video it showed a man watching television with a bar code on the back of his neck. So it shows that eventually we end up becoming a product of the media industry.
Adbusters is a non profit organization founded in 1989 by Kalie Lasn and Bill Schmalz in British Columbia, Canada. They describe the organization as a network for artists and others who want to change the activist movement of today's information age. Adbusters promotes its own magazine devoted to numerous political and social issues especially on anti-consumerism. They have also promoted numerous anti-consumer campaigns.
